Mark Holden Mark Holden Web Hosting Expert

As its name suggests, Techkerala Software Solutions is based in Kerala, India. It offers SSD-backed Linux and Windows web hosting solutions, but you have to contact the company to purchase a plan (which may be easier said than done).

Overview

techkerala mainKerala-based Techkerala Software Solutions is an Indian web and software development company that has been in business for nine years. In addition to web design, SEO, and marketing services, Techkerala offers a range of hosting subscriptions for web hosting, reseller hosting, VPS, and dedicated servers. It also deals in domain solutions.

Techkerala serves more than 1,000 customers in more than 40 countries from its sleek English-language website.

Features and Ease of Use

The Linux and Windows web hosting plans come with the following key features:

  • From 20 GB to unlimited bandwidth
  • SSD storage
  • cPanel and Plesk control panels
  • 99.99% uptime guarantee
  • Free site migration
  • MySQL and MS SQL support
  • PHP support

The eight Linux-based web hosting accounts come with all the essential features for a range of customer requirements. The most basic Nano plan provides 500 MB disk space, 25 GB monthly bandwidth, and two email accounts. At the other end of the scale, the highest Giga Premium plan provides unlimited web space, unlimited bandwidth, and 999 email accounts.

Superfast SSD storage assures peak performance and reliability, and the cPanel control panel makes it easy to manage your hosting even if you’re not too tech-savvy. The incorporated Softaculous installer helps you set up several content management apps such as WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.

The four Windows web hosting plans vary mainly in terms of disk space, bandwidth, and the number of email accounts. The smallest Nano plan is suitable for small websites since it comes with 500 MB storage space, 20 GB bandwidth, and 25 email accounts. At the top end, the Giga package provides more resources for busy websites: 5 GB web space, 150 GB bandwidth, and 150 email accounts.

Similar to the Linux accounts, the Windows packages utilize SSD storage, but they come with the Plesk control panel. These packages support both MS SQL and MySQL databases.

Pricing and Support

Techkerala’s web hosting is slightly more expensive than the Indian market average, but it’s still affordable. When trying to purchase a plan, I was redirected to the company’s contact page, so it seems pretty much impossible to purchase plans entirely online.

Customer support is also not the best I have ever encountered. Contact channels include landline, mobile phone, Skype, email, and a ticket system, and Techkerala is also active on social media. However, my ticket submission received no response. There is also no knowledge base or any other self-support provision as far as I can see.

Techkerala REVIEW: BOTTOM LINE

This company provides a good range of SSD-backed Linux and Windows web hosting solutions. It’s impossible to purchase plans online without contacting the company, which is unfortunate since I couldn’t summon any response to my pre-sales questions.

Pros

  • 99.99% uptime
  • SSD storage
  • Versatile price plans
  • Free website migration

Cons

  • Unresponsive support
  • No free SSL certificates
