Despite its name, Sweden VPS offers more than merely virtual server (VPS) plans. It also does some shared hosting plans, semi-dedicated and dedicated servers, and domain services. Sweden VPS serves its customers from five data centers around the world, in Chicago (U.S.A.), Maidenhead (U.K.), Ficolo (Finland), Sofia (Bulgaria), and Sydney (Australia). Its website can be switched between the English, French, and Spanish languages.
Features and Ease of Use
Sweden VPS offers four shared hosting plans, four (KVM and OpenVZ) VPS plans, two semi-dedicated servers, and eleven dedicated servers. The shared hosting plans provide you with:
- 99.9% guaranteed uptime
- Multilingual control panel
- Unlimited disk space
- Unlimited traffic
- 1 to unlimited hosted domain(s)
- 100 to unlimited email accounts
- 5 to unlimited MySQL databases
- PHP versions 7, 5 and 4
- Shared SSL
- Website accelerators
- Dropbox backups
- ZFS storage and SSD caching
- ModSecurity firewall
The SiteStudio website builder (with more than 70 themes) and a one-click app installer (with 50 scripts) help you create your web presence with little technical knowledge. There are also WordPress-, Moodle-, and Mambo-compatible web templates, and several site accelerators such as Varnish, Node.js, and Memcached.
Sweden VPS’s virtual servers use SSD drives for much faster read/write speeds than traditional HDDs. You also get full SSH access and root access (for dedicated servers) to give you complete control of your servers.
Pricing and Support
The shared hosting plans are competitively priced. They come with a 30-day free trial (so you can try before you buy) and a money-back guarantee (to get you out if you’re not entirely happy). You can also get a discounted domain registration for a year. However, the real bargains seem to be the VPS plans.
Sweden VPS has a guaranteed one-hour response time, and you can contact the support team via telephone, support ticket, live chat, or online contact form, but you have to be an existing customer to access the ticket or live chat channels.
Unfortunately, my contact form submission received no response, which is problematic since self-support resources are only accessible via the customer control panel. All I can access as a pre-sales prospect customer is a set of video tutorials:
