If you are in a hurry, and just want the bottom line: for the same price as Resello you can get much better servers with 24/7 support with Hostinger, so why even bother?!
Resello was launched in 2013 by Valentijn Borstlap (the founder large Dutch host Yourhosting) as a fully independent company. Its purpose is to help resellers of all sizes sell, provision, and bill cloud solutions. The company boasts of over 20,000 resellers in 140 countries.
Resello’s “Cloud Marketplace” offers an extensive range of cloud solutions, managed services, domains, and email solutions, but it has plans to phase out its shared hosting plans by the end of 2019. The Resello website can be switched between English and German.
Features and Ease of Use
Resello offers six cloud hosting plans (which it calls “Slimsite” website builder plans) and fifteen self-managed VPS plans that provide you with everything you need to support any size of hosting business instantly. Alternatively, the “Host it yourself” plans let you host Slimsite websites on your own servers located in your own data center. You can also choose the Microsoft Azure public cloud computing platform.
Resello’s cloud hosting plans provide:
- Hosting for one to unlimited sites
- 4 GB to 100 GB storage
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Two to unlimited email accounts
- SSL secured connection (with the four higher plans)
The aforementioned Slimsite website builder lets you create professional-looking websites without any coding experience. You can also easily integrate the Ecwid e-commerce shopping cart.
Resello’s VPS plans offer high-speed SSDs that provide better performance and reliability than HDDs, and the redundant gigabit network ensures that mission-critical applications and websites stay functional even when unplanned network outages happen. The plans are backed by multi-layer firewall security, which includes DDoS protection.
The vendor’s own VPS Manager lets you restart, reboot, power-on, or shut down your VPS easily. Various options are available for the control panel (cPanel, Plesk, or DirectAdmin), applications (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Prestashop, Magento, and more), and operating system (e.g., CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, FreeBSD).
Pricing and Support
Since all of Resello’s cloud hosting and VPS plans are completely customizable, you’ll have to contact the company for a quote. So, I can’t tell you what the pricing will be, but I can tell you that the consultation includes Resello first creating a demo and setting up a free account for you to try the platform. When it does come time to pay, you can do so via PayPal, bank transfer, credit cards, or WebMoney.
The provision of self-support resources is one of Resello’s strong points. In addition to the customary FAQ page, you will also find a Resources page that links to lots of ebooks, quick start guides, and API documentation. If you still need one-to-one support, you can contact the company via telephone, ticket, email, or online form. My pre-sales questions were answered promptly, albeit to confirm that shared hosting will soon be phased out.
