NEXOHOSTING is operated by Nexo Virtual, a design and digital marketing company that was founded in 2005. The web host offers shared hosting, reseller hosting and Virtual Private Servers (VPS).
The company’s servers are housed in data centers that are located in Spain and The United Kingdom. Its website is available in Spanish only.
Features and Ease of Use
On NEXOHOSTING’s shared web hosting plan, there are four packages. Its storage space is SSD which provides speed, better performance, stability and reliability due to many reasons but mostly its lack of moving parts. The shared plans also come with the following features:
- 99.9% uptime guarantee
- Free SSL certificate
- Daily automatic backups
- One, two, or unlimited domains per account
- From 2GB to 15GB disk space
- Up to 100GB bandwidth
The operating system that the company has on its servers is the CentOS Linux distribution which is very stable, fast, lightweight and reduces the risk of crashes and errors.
It comes with the simple and easy to use cPanel that you can use to manage your account. From cPanel, you can install applications such as WordPress, Drupal, Magento, Joomla and a host of others, using the Softaculous one-click installer tool.
The tool automates and simplifies the installation process by doing all the technical work for you. Another advantage of Softaculous is automatic updates. If you’re using WordPress, during installation, you can configure the tool to update your WordPress core, theme, and plugins, at the interval you want, as well as backups.
Pricing and Support
Unfortunately, the company doesn’t offer monthly subscriptions. All four of NEXOHOSTING’s shared hosting plans can be subscribed for either a quarterly or an annual period. The fee charged on its shared plan, although affordable, are slightly high for the features on offer.
Sure you get a free SSL but that doesn’t take away from its high prices. Also, I noticed that there’s no free domain registration on offer despite what it stated on its home page banner. When I got to the checkout, I was charged for my domain despite choosing 12 months as the hosting duration.
Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and bank transfer.
Its support is alright. It provides phone, ticket, and email support. Its live chat link goes to video tutorials and its blog contains some great tutorials as well. NEXOHOSTING provides clients with 24/7 technical support. I sent an email but didn’t get a response from them even after waiting for about six days.
