Back in 1999, the company already existed and was providing server installation and management services for businesses. In 2007, it decided to provide hosting services under the brand name – eBola. It has hosted over 7,000 websites. The company host customers’ websites in servers that are located in Prague, Czech Republic. Its website is available in English only.
Features and Ease of Use
eBola offers four shared hosting plans with features that fit individuals and companies. These are some of the features:
- 99.99% uptime
- Daily automated backups
- Let’s Encrypt SSL
- 5, 15, 30 or unlimited domains per account
- Unlimited bandwidth
- Anywhere from 10GB to 50GB space
Each backup is retained for seven days and customers can restore any backup at any time from the control panel without having to pay for data recovery. You can also set up backups and other custom automated tasks with cron jobs.
eBola provides web statistics on visits to customers websites with details on the exact time of visitors, computer information, etc.
Your hosting comes with a connection to git so that you can set up and deploy any number of GIT repositories so that you can work on multiple branches of your code anywhere.
It provides MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite databases with PhpMyAdmin, Adminer, and PostgreSqlAdmin tools.
The company supports many versions of PHP. You can easily switch to run a different version in your management panel. If you’ve already used written your codes in an editor elsewhere, you can upload the files through FTP.
For beginners, there is a one-click installer that you can use to install WordPress, Joomla!, Prestashop, amongst others.
Pricing and Support
eBola’s prices are low and you definitely get good value for your money. You can’t pay for one month though. The shortest subscription period is three months. Also, beware that the company doesn’t include a free domain which is a bit disappointing.
You can pay with your Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, or a bank transfer. The sign-up process takes only a few minutes.
The company doesn’t give a trial period which isn’t so nice because it’s better to test what you are going to be paying. The good news is that the company will refund you all your hosting cost if you cancel within 14-day after your first payment.
One of eBola’s best features is its knowledge base. The incredible help center is filled with tutorials upon tutorials on everything from web hosting management to Git push and applications management.
Of course, while that is there, there are situations where discussing directly with a support agent is the way to go, either because you can’t comprehend the tutorials or there are none. You can reach its support agents through email only.
eBola say that it responds to support requests within ten minutes be it weekends or holidays. It also has a phone number but can only take sales and billings issues there.
I sent it an email and didn’t get a reply, or even an acknowledgment of my email.
