The most frustrating, exasperating software program I have ever used in my 26 years of computer/IT management. How this software survives in the market place is a wonder all its own. There is nothing simple or easy about this program. You cannot s et default padding, font, style, color or any other number of options that are inherent in every software program circling the planet. Once you make a font size, color change or style on one element, the program immediately defaults back to the color, style and size that IT wants. Several field choices don't allow for alignment. You get left justified regardless of whether you want the text centered, and the space bar has no effect on the text at all. It may show the text moving in the edit window, but it had no effect on the outcome. You can't insert a check box without text even if all I want is the check box function. You cannot set the width for anything other than the program defaults, which are, for the most part, useless. If you want the same options from one field to the next, you have to duplicate the last field and insert it, then retype all the data. No matter how many times you change the padding settings to zero, they revert back to program defaults on the next use of that element. After spending 4 hours trying to create a simple form from an existing printed form, I finally said, screw it. I should have learned from the first day when I had way too many alarm bells going off that this was not what was advertised. Caveat Emptor. You get what you pay for

I have bought several coffeecup software over the years and they all won't work anymore except webform builder, but when I migrated from goddady to Bluehost, it does not work, something is missing, no help from Bluehost either, I only realize what wa s missing after I use WYSIWYG Webbuilder that generate the missing file.Responsive Email Designer got stripped off the responsive feature after a few months because I refuse to subscribe to their S-Drive cloud storage, how can they harass users or is it because I am not in America?

I purchase several CoffeCup Software products over the years with the understanding "PUBLISHED" that the software came with a lifetime upgrade policy. After version 12 CoffeeCup decided that revenue was down so changed the policy of lifetime to curre nt versions only. That would be fine except that it should only apply to new purchases, not the grandfathered products. When I complained to CoffeeCup Software about this change, they deleted my post which was polite but expressed what is here as well, and banned me from posting on their site.BUYER BEWARE, of a company that changes the terms of their contract after the sale.

The Review Factors:

Pricing

Two Types of Pricing: Software and S-Drive

Pricing for CoffeeCup is multi-faceted. On the one hand you have the Web Form Builder which is a pricey $69 after a 2-week trial for PC users, and a Lite version which is free for OS X (the Full Version is also $69). THEN, you have S-Drive, which is kind of essential if you don’t want to do all that icky form building/uploading stuff on your own site. While the software is good, coupling it with the S-Drive fees can hit you in the pocketbook more than competitors.

Design From Templats is a Snap

You can easily to create a form from a template by choosing File>New From Template.

CoffeeCup comes with a good amount of features, even at the Lite level, to help you quickly build cool forms.

A Dream to Use With Straightforward Publishing

If you are a beginner then the first thing you want to see is an easy to use form builder, clutter free and with minimal tools and features to help you build a form to use. Luckily, CoffeeCup handles this area really well and makes creating and publishing a dream.

When you come to creating a form you can access all the tools and features down the right hand-side of the screen all broken down into well-thought out categories. The higher the tier plan, the more features that will become available, but most users will find the free version as user-friendly as they come.

Downloading and installing the app is quite easy, but a separate step is required to configure/create your S-Drive. The S-Drive website itself is easy to use and manage your forms.

Toll-Free Support for Everyone!
CoffeeCup is one of the few providers to offer toll-free support to all of their users, pretty cool. On top of that, they encourage users to get priority support from their Support Room, where they promise to answer within 24 hours. An extensive knowledgebase has a variety of articles as well as tips and tricks. CoffeeCup has a blog with all the latest news, and there is also a forum where they encourage suggestions for features and products. For hardcore users, there’s even an Ambassador Program with its own separate area called The Embassy. A 63-page user guide for the Builder is included with download/purchase.

Review Summary by Robert Turner

CoffeeCup is a tantalizing brew of software and service, with a couple of caveats in terms of pricing. It’s costly for the builder unless you can get by with the Lite version. Plus, you barely have any form usage/storage with the Free plan. That said, the price points are reasonable, starting at just $4.95/mo. Power users with their own servers might best take advantage of the Lite, but others will find a bit of value for their dollars.

PRO’S

CON’S

  • Easy builder for basic forms
  • Instant integration with S-Drive
  • Regular Expressions add powerful features
  • Full version software expensive
  • Separate cost for S-Drive
